Foot Pursuit Results in Arrest and Recovery of Loaded Firearm During an Investigation in Jamaica Plain —

At about 6:06 PM on Friday January 10, 2020, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Trevon Bell, 23, of Brighton, on firearm related charges following a foot pursuit which concluded in the area of the Jackson Square MBTA Station near Lamartine Street in Jamaica Plain. The officers were on patrol when they observed a group of males gathered inside an entryway of 277 Centre Street which is part of the Mildred C. Hailey Housing Complex. When the officers entered the building, one of the males, later identified as the suspect, immediately fled out the rear entrance on foot. Additional responding units were able to stop the suspect a short distance away at which time they performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded .45 caliber Glock 21 handgun from his lower left pant leg. The suspect was then placed in custody without incident.

The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Armed Career Criminal and Trespassing.
